Abby is 9

I could write so much about Abby. She is such a special girl. She is kind, thoughtful, hard working, smart, spunky, creative, helpful, loving, sensitive and so much more.

For her birthday we got a bounce house and invited a few families over to celebrate. She and I decided to try and make a sixlets cake and it turned out so cute. Abby really wanted a bunny for her birthday. For weeks we searched for just the right one. We went to pet store and priced out everything and then went to craigslist to compare. She quickly learned how much you can save when you buy used. She paid for half of everything and found the kindest bunny that sadly only lived one day. It was very upsetting but she continued to look and found a baby that was just right for us and named him Thumper. She was wanting to have a basket on her bike so she could ride around the neighborhood with him but the small basket we had allowed him to jump out so for her birthday  I made her a lid for her new basket and had it ready on her birthday. Thumper has enjoyed a lot of long bike rides with the family.

She has also liked shooting bow and arrows with Grandpa and he gave her one of his bows for her birthday. She is quite the shot and works hard to get better. She is like this with so many things, when she isn't great at something she works and works until she improves. She is so determined.

Abby is a great reader and loves to read Rainbow Magic books. She can cruise through one in a few hours. She also is great at reading to her siblings whenever she is asked.  She shares a room with Olivia and often I listen at the door as she sings to her little sister or reads to her to calm her down- a lot like my sister did for me when we shared a room!

She amazes me everyday. She has a focus and desire to know about the world around her. She still loves bugs. Loves church and school. Loves playing with her best friend Kensington across the street. Plays the piano really well and never has to be asked to practice in the morning before school. She can recognize when people are hurt and sad and feels their sadness along with them. I am so lucky that she is in our family and sometime forget what an amazing young lady she really is!

This picture is so Abby. She is very creative and focused. She has loved drawing and creating outside this summer!

I love everything about this post! I love Abby and can't believe she is 9. I thought of her last weekend when we were at a baptism, thinking it was almost exactly a year since Abby's special baptism. She is such a tender heart, and she has an amazing smile!Don't forget when she told you, "The Arnesens just moved here, and now we are leaving them again?" My sentiments exactly! I absolutely LOVE the pic of her creating. LOVE!
