North Cascades RV Trip
Mike's friend from work offered to split an RV rental with us. We each had 2 nights and 3 days which was a perfect amount of time for our family. These pictures just make me so happy. We had an amazing time and I feel so lucky to have this special family as my own!!
We stayed the first night in Marblemount and when we woke up there were deer in the campground. Michael and Abby got really close to them. We then started the drive through the Cascade National Forest stopping at one of their visitor centers so the kids could become Jr. Rangers. We did a mile hike down to the river and saw tons of pink salmon swimming up the river. This only happens every two years with the pink salmon and it was one of my favorite parts. When Michael spotted one he said "look a shark" they were really big, 3 to 4 feet. I was bummed that my pictures of them didn't show how cool they really were, but believe me they were cool. As we drove through the park it was awesome to see the vegetation change from wet and green to dry and rocky. We stopped at Lake Diablo which was a vivid green color which comes from the Limestone deposits.
Night 2 we stayed in a very cool old western town-- Winthrop. I don't have any pictures of the town but it looked like an old western movie. At the campground we saw a lot more deer and again we were able to get really close. Michael had a blast learning how to skip rocks with Mike on the lake.
Our last day we drove to Lake Chelan. There were speed boat races going on and the boys really liked watching them. It was such a nice day that we let the kids swim in the lake and made do without their swim suits. On the drive home we were able to see Leavenworth and Stevens Pass which were both breath taking.
We got home exhausted but happy! Olivia was a little hard on this trip as always. She is heavy to carry around and always wants me to carry her. The kids slept great except Olivia but we did get her to nap during the drives. Considering Olivia was a little sick I think we managed great on this trip with her typical 5 + melt downs per day. Now every time we are on a long drive Davis says we need the RV for this ride and I agree!

Thanks for sharing and making me want to get an RV! I am curious for the WHOLE story, like all 6 of you sleeping in one space and what not, but it looks like an amazing trip!
Its so common for Olivia to loose it I forgot to write that she slept terrible and threw a lot of fits but that is standard for her. The other kids slept great
What great memories for your family! We love Lake Chelan! So beautiful!
